Supporting the Supporters: The Ripple Effect of Investing in Local Partners
By April 2, 2026 Community banking

Across Northern California and Northern Nevada, a network of agencies works every day to support small businesses. These are organizations that provide guidance, resources and even encouragement at the moments that matter most.
And Plumas Bank is proud to stand behind this work.
Local Agencies Power Small Business Success
This year, Plumas Bank is contributing $30,000 to six organizations that work directly with entrepreneurs and small business owners. Each will receive $5,000 to help fund financial education, business coaching and programs designed to help small businesses grow in a sustainable way.
“Financial literacy plays an important role in helping businesses and communities succeed,” said Jack Prescott, chief banking officer at Plumas Bank. “As a community bank with deep ties to the regions we serve, we are proud to support organizations that provide entrepreneurs and small business owners with the knowledge and resources they need to grow and thrive.”
A Network of Support Across the Region
The following partners create a lasting impact on small business development that reaches deep into both urban and rural communities:
- Rural Community Assistance Corporation provides training, funding guidance, and advocacy in Indigenous and rural communities, including many with smaller populations where access to resources can be limited.
- Superior California Economic Development focuses on financing and economic planning, helping businesses expand while creating jobs throughout Northern California.
- 3CORE, Inc. offers no-cost financial education, mentoring, and lending programs that support both new and established business owners.
- Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada works to strengthen the regional economy. Its Building Entrepreneurial Support Together Initiative supports locally driven events and programs that encourage business growth across Northern Nevada.
- Sierra Business Council advances economic development alongside environmental stewardship, supporting entrepreneurs throughout the Sierra Nevada region.
- Nevada Small Business Development Center (Nevada SBDC) provides advising and education for entrepreneurs in Washoe and Carson City. This year’s support came just ahead of SBDC Day on March 18, 2026, highlighting the role these centers play in supporting local businesses.
Ongoing Involvement Matters
Financial contributions are one part of the relationship, but ongoing involvement helps deepen the impact. Plumas Bank team members serve on boards, volunteer their time and stay closely connected to many of these organizations, ensuring resources reach the people and businesses who need them most.
This approach has guided the bank for 45 years, with a consistent focus on reinvesting in the communities we serve.
A Stronger Foundation for Local Businesses
Progress happens when the right support is within reach. These six organizations provide that support across our region, helping entrepreneurs and business owners take the next step with confidence.
Plumas Bank is proud to invest in their work and the communities they serve.
