With an impressive 40-year career spanning banking, technology, and consulting, Foster brings a range of experiences that promise to add value to Plumas Bank and the communities we serve.

Roots in Banking, Real Estate, & Technology

Foster’s journey began in the 1990s, working as a commercial real estate lender and in commercial banking in San Francisco. During this time, he collaborated with some of the Bay Area’s most innovative companies, building enduring client relationships across a range of industries.

In the early 2000s, Foster was a key contributor to the unprecedented innovation happening in technology and financial services in the Bay Area. He was involved with several start-ups and spent 12 years with Teradata, a global leader in data and analytics technology. During his time with Teradata, he had several management roles and worked closely with banks to create new insights from data, pioneering banking solutions that reshaped strategies during a time of unprecedented industry growth.

From 2016 until his retirement in 2023, Foster was with Ernst & Young, where he provided technology consulting solutions to major financial institutions like Wells Fargo and Early Warning Systems (Zelle). His work encompassed digital transformation, cybersecurity, cloud enablement, organizational change, and risk management. He was responsible for establishing governance structures to support new capabilities, driving transformation, efficiency, and compliance.

Passion for Community

As a complement to his professional achievements, Foster remains deeply committed to his community. He works with nonprofits, advises small businesses, and volunteers. Foster is a fourth-generation Californian and currently splits his time between Lake Tahoe and the Bay Area.

A Commitment to Community Banking

Foster is a fierce advocate for the power of community banking and sees it as an essential part of inspiring growth and strengthening relationships.
