People, Purpose, Progress: Highlights from Our 2025 Corporate Citizenship Report
By September 15, 2025 Community banking
Plumas Bank has grown a lot since opening our doors in Quincy back in 1980, and that growth has always been guided by two constants: people and purpose.
Clients, employees, and communities remain at the center of everything we do, while deliberate and thoughtful decisions ensure we continue to build a strong foundation for the future.
The 2025 Corporate Citizenship Report highlights how those priorities came to life over the past year. Below are just a few key takeaways from this year’s report.
Client Advocacy and Support
Our client-first approach emphasizes personal relationships and tailored solutions. By staying focused on the unique needs of each client, we help build trust, loyalty, and long-term financial stability. One example of this approach is reflected in a story about Best Bet Motor Lodge in Reno, featured on p. 28 of the 2025 Corporate Citizenship Report. When their team set out to breathe new life into a vintage property, we partnered with them to craft financing that supported both their vision and the community’s needs. The result is a reimagined space that blends creativity, hospitality, and wellness — and a reminder of how banking relationships can help make big ideas possible.
Investment in People
Career development and education remain priorities. Leadership training, tuition assistance, and mentorship programs help our employees thrive. A standout example is Sarena Barker, now Senior Vice President of Digital Banking, who advanced from an entry-level role to build a rewarding 28-year career at Plumas Bank. You’ll find a brief profile of her career evolution on p. 17 of the 2025 Corporate Citizenship Report.
Expansion Through Strategic Acquisition
Earlier this year, we completed a merger with Cornerstone Community Bank, broadening our reach in Northern California. This integration brings new opportunities for clients and expands our ability to serve communities while maintaining a stable foundation for future growth.
Governance and Stability
Independent recognition for strong financial performance and risk management reflects our disciplined approach. A culture of steady oversight reinforces confidence among clients, shareholders, and community members.
Commitment to Communities
Our employees volunteer hundreds of hours each year to support local nonprofits, financial literacy programs, and economic initiatives. But our commitment also expands to include the ways we partner with community organizations to help them thrive. A clear example is Forest Lake Christian School, which has been nurturing students for more than 60 years. When the school needed a lending partner, Plumas Bank provided financing that reduced monthly costs by more than $2,800 — funds the school redirected to support its students and mission. Read more about this story on p. 30 to learn how strong partnerships can strengthen entire communities.
Plumas Bank was founded in 1980 with the goal of creating a strong, community-focused financial institution. Today, with $2.3 billion in assets, 250 team members, and a growing regional presence, that vision continues to guide our growth.
