Winners Announced: Community Pride Photo Contest
By December 8, 2022 Contests
If you live in Nevada or California, you already know the sheer beauty of the local landscapes and communities. But that won’t stop you from oohing and aahing over the more than 200 breathtaking photographic entries in our Community Pride Photo Contest.
We asked community members from our branch service areas to submit photos of the beautiful main streets, community landmarks and country landscapes they love. We received entries from 8 counties including Plumas, Lassen, Modoc, Washoe, Shasta, Placer, Nevada and Carson City.
This year’s winners who will take home cash prizes are:
First Place: Susan Tangeman, Lassen County
Second Place: Barry Buchholtz, Plumas County
Third Place: Lea Huetteman, Modoc County
In addition, our judges selected photos from each county for honorable mention. These photos showcase the charm and character of the unique communities that Plumas Bank serves. These beautiful photos will be displayed on the website, ATM screens, in-branch screens and more.
INTRODUCING OUR GUEST JUDGES
Thank you to Sierra Arts Foundation and artist Erik Burke who weighed in to select the top photos for cash prizes and honorable mention.
Meet Tracey Oliver: Tracey is the executive director of Sierra Arts Foundation.
Meet Tia Flores: Tia is the director of programming and arts education at Sierra Arts Foundation. As an artist, Tia specializes in culturally themed pyrographic calabaza sculptures that depict the natural beauty of Nevada.
Meet Valerie Moore: Valerie is the community relations manager for Sierra Arts Foundation and manages the artist services department of Sierra Arts. She enjoys her daily drives through Washoe Valley and the contest entries were very reminiscent of the beauty of that landscape.

His latest work can be seen in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Italy and closer to his home in Reno, Nevada.
